leadership & student organizations

At LCC, there are many ways to become involved on campus and to develop your leadership skills. If you just want to learn more about being active on campus or if you're ready to make a greater commitment to developing as a leader, there are opportunities waiting for you here!

The Student Life department has two separate ways of developing students for leadership. The first is through the formal student leader program and the second is through the leadership development program, which is open to all undergraduate students.

Official student leaders go through a formal application and interview process with two LCC staff members and are hired for each year they serve. Our student leader program is highly competitive with over 115 students applying for only 56 positions for 2006-2007.

The leadership development program is open to all undergraduate students. The program uses a series of seminars, service learning, application, critical analysis, discussion and an interactive leadership challenge to develop and train students for leadership. This program is a great way to develop leadership skills and prepare for a student leader position.
