TOEFL test preparation courses
In cooperation with the Admissions Office, we offer TOEFL (Test of English
as a Foreign Language). The test is designed to measure the English-language
skills of people who do speak English as a foreign language and who plan
to study at colleges and universities in North America either as graduate
students
or undergraduates.
TOEFL for admission to LCCA successful TOEFL is one of the requirements for admission to LCC. Candidates should aim for a score of 480 for admission. In selecting candidates for admission to LCC, the Admissions office also considers high school grades, two letters of reference, exams and an interview. The official Institutional TOEFL is given at LCC in March.
the courseThe purpose for the TOEFL Preparation courses is to assist students by familiarizing them with the test. Class time is spent on practice exercises in three sections: Listening, Structure and Written Expression, and Reading Comprehension.
By taking this course the students will:
- Be familiar with the format and directions
of the test.
- Recognize the various kinds of questions that are frequently
asked
- Practice items from each section of the test
- Understand test taking strategies
(time management, filling in the answer sheet)
- Review individual questions
- Take a full length practice test
