Leadership Seminar at LCC: Corruption Targeted
21 November 2008
The 4th annual leadership seminar took place at LCC International University on the 15th of November. For the second year in a row the Pointman Leadership Institute, collaborating with Character Solutions International, came to Lithuania to share their knowledge and experience.
This year, John Garmo, PhD, came with his colleague from Great Britain, Commander of the Scotland Yard police forces David Kendrick, to hold his second leadership seminar at LCC International University.
John Garmo brings a great deal of knowledge to LCC International Unviersity; he has experience as the CEO of Investment Corporation, is a founder of Character Solutions International and has been thr president and co-finder of several non-profit organizations, which are actively involved in over 15 countries.
His colleague David Kendrick is a retired Commandeering chief of Scotland Yard, has received multiple recognitions for his achievements, including the Queens Police Medal, and was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
The full day seminar covered leadership character styles from a last year’s leadership conference and also discussed the problem of corruption. Both leaders highlighted the importance of transparency in a country and how lack of it affects expectations and lifestyles of its citizens. They carried the message of empowerment and faith to future leaders, as well as their responsibility to change the social dogmas and tolerance for them.
The credit for the smooth organization of the seminar goes to the Student Life department, especially Laura Hanson and her assistants for the conference, Elvira Bakhar and Arūnas Milašius. This annual event is becoming a very valuable tradition at LCC International University and will continue as such next year.
